December/ January 2012 - What the D & D Team has been up to!!!

December/ January, It's getting hot now, the days are longer, balmy evening BBQ's, bring the summer camping & fishing weather on,

On our cars & utes, turn on the airconditioning, check over the cooling systems & make sure all is ready for the summer heat, final check overs, get ready for the last of the summer holidays & January Long weekend.

Christmas for our team went well & all holiday preparations went well,

Zac Galpin, D & D Mechanical & 4wd sponsor a new junior, Zac had an excellent Christmas & received a new KTM rocket, apparently has not left it alone, riding every day on the farm, Zac's Dad just has to keep feeding it with petrol of course, his first ride ended up in the back of his big sister on her motorbike, no one hurt apart from ego's, dusted off & back into it, the joys of youth,

Circuit Excel race cars have been accepted to the SA driver Championship for 2012, first meeting on the 19th/ 20th of February at, This will be hotly contested between Dean, Danny, Roger & Zac, this meeting promises to be a great tussle with 1/2 the current racing cars prepared at D & D Mechanical's workshop,

The Team at D & D Mechanical & 4wd, particularly Zac has been instrumental in maintaining all race cars this season & with no major breakdowns his work is to be highly commended, well done Zac.

The Officials recognition day at Mallala raceway went without a hitch the Excels combined achieved approx 40 laps each running various officials around Mallala as a thankyou gesture for there combined work looking after the competitors through out the year on race days, Thank you to everyone who participated, a great effort,

Bernard & family spent their Christmas holiday traveling to Victoria/ Geelong via the Grampions/ Halls gap & returned via the Great Ocean Road, an excellent trip had by all,

Bernards new Ironman suspension installed on his 2006 Toyota Prado before the trip was nothing short of fantastic, & the D & D Camper trailer went without a fault,

Rohan Caravaned locally for 2 weeks & had an excellent trip away, his dogs traveled well, Plenty of fishing relaxing & BBQ's, a perfect getaway,

Danny's Family stayed at home & relaxed with comfort pool side with their families,

Dean & family stayed at their Inlaws with family arriving from Victoria, nephews & nieces motorbikes, skiing & tubing, every one had a great time & enjoyed a relaxing & busy break,

Junior Development Program, Kicks off again in February, I know I'm repeating myself, what a fantastic idea, teaching advanced driving skills/ road safety, hands on learning to control a motor vehicle, also delves into Drug awareness & the influences it has on impaired abilities etc, great life skills being introduced to these young men, too every one who organizes & assists with these training day's, thank you & keep the good skills coming,

Personally I believe all kids should have to undergo some form of driver/ defensive skill training before they take their lives into their own hands on the public roads.

Phil Staples left us in December to pursue a career in driving Trucks, we wish him all the best with his new job,
