Our Staff's holiday preparations are well on the way to completion, most staying local this year with some short trips planned,
Zac Galpin, D & D Mechanical & 4wd sponsored junior, Zac has had a great year on his KTM rocket, I believe being a standout amongst some very talented Junior Kids, Zac has learnt to get the bike on the "Pipe" & is consistently running o the front of the pack, he gets home & apparently regenerates on the 20 minute drive & just wants to get back on his bike for another ride on the farm, Zac's Dad just has to keep feeding it with petrol of course,
Circuit Excel race cars were accepted to the SA driver Championship for 2012, & an application to form the Circuit Excel Association of South Australia has been accepted & approved by CAM's, the SA Drivers Championship was held over four race meetings in 2012, & has provided outstanding commentary & excellent spectator viewing, all of which combined have achieved great results for the fledgling category, the Hyundai Excel race prepared cars have had no major breakdowns, this category is sure to be closely watched by newcomers that are pursuing an entry level category to compete in,
Final results Shawn Panowitch 1st, Danny Maul 2nd, Roger Vogelsang 3rd, Dean Maul-Dunn 4th, Dave Smith 5th, hotly contested & went to the last race meeting to be decided, Shawn panowitch drove with great maturity & finished the final round with two rd places & one ND place to gain the rights to be called # 1 for 2013,
Zach Vogelsang finished 7th, & could have been 5th had he not been sharing a drive with his Dad in the first round of the Championship.
The top 4 finishers in this Race category were cars prepared at D & D Mechanical & 4wd, with fields up to 15 competing cars, this is a great achievement for our workshop, well done to our Technicians, in particular to Zac Vogelsang our apprentice who is entering the 3rd year of his apprenticeship, Zac prepared & maintained both his own & his Dads Race Cars, & kept my car Race prepared for the whole season, well done mate, obviously could not have achieved the results we did without you.
Motorcycling, The Mud n Tars SA Dirt track Series has been run & won, Tammy Maul-Dunn finished 1st in Womens open, I managed 2nd in the series in great company, congratulations to Anthony Watkins our new # 1 Champ.
Cody Maul-Dunn had a great first year & finished every meeting, & a four year old crusty Demon in the making,
Mud N Tars Motorcycle Racing Club, we have been proud sponsors of this Club for 2 years, & will be continuing with our support into 2013, a big thank you to all the Club Members that have supported us, & in return have enabled us to continue to support this family orientated Club.
The Officials recognition day at Mallala raceway is on the 15th of December 2012, & involves running various officials around Mallala for a few HOT laps, last year 40 laps in total were achieved without a hitch, this event is a thank you gesture for their combined work looking after the competitors through out the year on race days, Thank you to everyone who participated, a great effort,
Bernard & family had a Northern Territory holiday in their D & D Camper Trailer & had a great time, even ringing through a week before he was due back from Holiday asking to have an extra week as they were having such a great time, of course he had an extra week, it was a trip of a lifetime, an excellent trip had by all,
Bernards new Ironman suspension installed on his 2006 Toyota Prado before the trip was nothing short of fantastic, & the D & D Camper trailer went without a fault,
Bernards son Ferre has started Judo competition & experienced his first win in the local league competition, as a result he was asked to represent South Australia in the Judo Championships, all of this in his first year of competition, he had until this point never competed in any major competition, with some obvious talent managed Runner up, 2nd place, what an outstanding talent,
Fishing is on this families radar for the christmas holidays, & relaxing from the training.
Rohan Caravaned locally for a few weeks & has had some excellent trips away, including a golfing holiday, recently he & Deb has bought a Canadian canoe & he & Deb are looking forward to some more great caravaning trips away, with the bonus of being able to go canoeing, Plenty of fishing relaxing & BBQ's, a perfect getaway,
Danny had a Northern territory Holiday & saw the V8 Supercars at Hidden Valley in Darwin, his family had a great break, & are looking forward to the next break, Christmas will be at home, relaxed in comfort pool side with their families,
Dean & family Holiday'd in New Zealand with Family, every one had a great time, enjoying a relaxing & busy break,
Karen Jones our office/ bookeeper has heard the sound of Wedding Bells softly whispering in the breeze, her partner Kaarel has proposed & set the date for early next year, love is in the air....
Junior Development Program, Danny Maul has progressed to Instructor & is actively supporting this great program, I know I'm repeating myself, what a fantastic idea, teaching advanced driving skills/ road safety, hands on learning to control a motor vehicle, this programme also delves into Drug & alcohol awareness & the influences it has on impaired abilities etc, great life skills being introduced to these young men & women, too every one who organizes & assists with these training day's, thank you & keep the good skills coming,
Personaly I believe that only good can come from this driving training, assisting these kids with new skills, building confidence that is needed to process & accuratly react to any road conditions that may present themselves
